E-mail Mapsource routes

I don't know if this is a similar request to Chasr's post, but is it possible to e-mail a route on mapsource to a mates PC who does not have Mapsource installed. I just want to show him the route we are taking on a trip, but am wondering can it be opened say for example, in Adobe Reader. Or saved in a format that can be shared. I have had no luck so far.

No, he needs to have Mapsource installed to open the file, a bit like trying to open a Word document without having Word installed.

You can take screenshots of the map and email him them as picture files (JPG's). Also if you right click on the routes name in the route list (left hand screen) and select route properties you can copy the line by line written directions and paste them into your email

Screenshots is the only simple way available.

You could install Mapsource and your unlock on his PC so he can view the routes and waypoints, after all, he can’t use them for anything else
