E mails

I keep gettin a message saying my mail folder is full and to empty it, I am doing this one at atime and going mad! How can I wipe out several / all at once? any help appreciated.

Press ctrl and a the delete button ! Failing that click on your top email hold shift down and click on the bottom email then delete.

To highlight individual files. Click on one, then hold down the Ctrl button and click on the others you wish to delete then press the del button, all highlighted files are then deleted.

To delete a block of files click on the first then hold down the shift button and click on the last, all the ones in between will then be highlighted, then press the del button.

You might want to try....

Depending on your set up you might have to delete them from your "deleted items" folder as well to free up the space required.

If you are using outlook then you can sort your mail by file size and that way you can get rid of any large e-mails and free up space more quickly. If you right click on the menu bar at the top of the screen (where it says "from" "to" etc) then choose field chooser and select size you can then sort your messages by left clicking on the "size" heading.

many thanks for all the replies, none of which would work! this only occcured when talk talk (who have taken over tiscali who never put a foot wrong in my case) came to put me on phone rental and their tv service. Cheaper rental and all the telly for nought extra ( now got euro sport back when's the next world superbike race?) now I find that the tiscali program won't woork and I have to go on internet explorer and the aol page comes up, I then google tiscali mail and back to normal (or thought so!). Anyway mails would not delete at all so phned their help line after a few false starts and prepared
to to tell them to poke it they emptied my in box for me and all is now working
any more hassels though and that will be it. Once again many thanks for the help. Being a computer plonker dosent help sometimes!

Yeah OK sort of.

Thought I might add in the bit to select individual files/messages or a block of messages in case davegs didn't want to highlight all (ctrl a or Shift first/Shift last) which is what you said.

Delete your old 'sent' files as well... that was messing up my emails at work.
