Does anyone know where I can get a earphones - similar to the ones shown - that would fit a Street Pilot 3? Surprisingly, when in the car I pay more attention to the voice prompts (via the external speaker) than the screen - but the voice prompts have not been available to me while on the bike. I borrowed these off the kids walkman, but the jack connection is too big to fit into the socket on the GPS unit. I'm sure I've seen a thread on here somewhere - but can't find it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. ;)

As Mick says these adapters are available at Maplins or most electronics shops and will let you hear the mono sound in both ears.

Thanks Mick, I did originally think about an adapter, but can I ask if you have had any problems with yours ? From previous experience with electronics, the more connections there are, the more problems you could have with loose connections. I was working on the assumption that the fewer connectioons, the better.

When you say "if your happy with those ear pieces" I take it you don't think much of them. I have used the type that slot over your ears before, but frankly did not find them that comfortable.

Ultimate Monitors and a SPIII cars cabling modified, I did try the normal steroe ear pieces but didn't think they gave much protection. All I basically did was take a SPIII cars power/audio supply, cut off the speaker and add a fuse to the powere lead and a 3.5mm socket for the audio.

If you want...

PM me your address and I will drop the adapter in the post to you, it seems to have lost its stereo sound but works ok with hearing ok in one ear, try it out if you like then get a new one, if not happy just bin it.

Give Dave a call at Rainbow Motorcycles in Rotherham - they sell a Garmin ready headset with ultra thin speakers and correct size plugs fitted - I think its about £25

Hope this helps
