I have invested in some proper moulded ear plugs, having used foam for too many years
In the past I have just used all manner of cheap ones, which either hurt your ears or were just plain ineffective at speeds over 70mph
In turn this has caused a small amount of Tinnitus in both ears
However I was talking to Micky (of this UKGSER parish) and he suggested that I tried some proper ear plugs and get some custom made.
So I bit the bullet and invested the time and money to go over to him and get them sorted
Taking the mould was easy and pain free and he delivered them to me in next couple of days, complete with filters, just in time for my recent German trip in early May
So after a bit of trepidation.....................I popped them in and they fitted perfectly
Bingo....................all the previous poor fit and pain of foam ear plugs was truly surpassed
On the bike......................everything was quiet and no more wind noise, whilst the filters allowed me to hear the engine. I don't use any music whilst on the bike or intercom, but no doubt the filters will allow this to work well.
Riding experience was excellent
Micky makes everything in his workshop and so you get the perfect set set of earplugs, in whatever colour or spec you need
If you need his services, he is based in South Yorkshire and he does an 'Earplug Service' at Rainbow BMW in Rotherham on the first Saturday of each month or Micky can be contacted here
