Early exhaust on 2010 GSA

Appreciate 09 and earlier aftermarket exhaust wont fit as standard on a 2010GSA,

anyone know if the downpipes and cat on a 2010 are the same as 2009 and earlier

hoping the difference is due to the addition of the exhaust flap section which I am happy to discard

Anyone know the answer or has an early silencer lying around i could check against mine

its only 5 mins to remove the exhaust and willing to travel to get an answer

I wrote off my '09 GSA last week and collecting '10 GSA on Wednesday and was hoping my Remus titanium Powercone would slot straight on........is that not the case because of this valve thingie ?

yes, they are identical other than the exhaust flap. you can put the 2010 exhaust on earlier models if you put a piece of joiner pipe in where the flap would normally go

just to confirm, by discarding the exhaust flap section, an 09 pipe will fit an 2010 bike

Not unless you replace the section with something else it won't.

So would an aftermarket exhaust meant for a 10 plate bike fit an 09, just in case some idiot bought a BOS 2010 pipe cheap on ebay then realised it was for a 2010 bike and not the 09 he has in is garage

just in case there was an idiot around, he could always sell the 2010 pipe on a little bit cheaper to me

A 2010 exhaust WILL fit if you use a piece of joiner pipe where the exhaust flap goes.
Specs are identical for both 2010 and earlier bikes

Does anyone know if earlier headers will fit on a 2010 adv - have a full BOS system at the moment on my 2004 GS, can get a different link pipe to get it to go on a post 2006 bike (to accomodate the change in the stand), but am a bit worried that the new heads may not accept the older headers (if you see what I mean)?

Has anyone done it?
