Looking to wire in some auxillary lights.

I've got a relay and fuses to run the main feed from the battery to the lights, i just need a switched live to feed into the coil side of the relay.

where is the easiest place to tap into the loom? or is it easier to pick up from the back of the dipped side of the headlight? or somewhere else?

I the auxillary socket under the seat switched?

Under the seat, right side, towards the rear there is an unused connector which controls the solenoid for the charcoal filter on the US bikes. It is only live when the engine is running. Perfect for switching a relay.

Auxiliary socket under the seat is permanently live - good for connecting an optimate or charging your phone in a camp site, not for switching a relay.

Any pictures for a better understanding of their locations?

Can't do pics since the bike has gone. Lift the seat and look for the unused connector. If you have the power socket under the seat there will only be 1, towards the rear, behind the tank. This is switched. If you don't have the power socket above the shock there will also be an unused connector towards the front of the tank.
