I've been asked many times if I would sort a coast to coast USA out again after our successful mooch across the great continent in 2010. That trip was 4 weeks long and went West to East but to fit in with a lot of peoples holiday entitlement and to fit in with my Alaska trip http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?357845-Alaska-2015, I've reduced it to 3 weeks and we will go East to West which seems more appropriate somehow. We will be able to get in some of the best roads and some of the most gorgeous scenery in the States and the mid to end of June is a great time to do it as the weather is superb and we will be out of the main US vacation period (cheaper flights and motels).

Also, a few people have asked me to organise shipping of their own bike to the East Coast USA so it makes sense to organise a container and get a few more on board.

OK, here is a basic overview of the trip with dates and highlights:

Depart Norfolk Virginia on Saturday 13th June 2015
Wright Brothers memorial at Kitty Hawk
Blue Ridge Park Way and Deals Gap (Dragons Tail)
Jack Daniels Distillery
Ouchita National Forest
Pikes Peak (14,110 ft)
Million Dollar highway
Monument Valley
Bryce and Zion National Parls
North Rim Grand Canyon
Death Valley
Yosemite National Park
Sequoia National Park
Pacific Coast Highway
Alice's Restaurant and Golden Gate Bridge
Arrive at Santa Rosa California on Friday 3rd July 2015

The bikes will be reloaded on a container on Tuesday 7th July 2015 however, if you want to stay on a little longer, I will be loading a container with the Alaska trip bikes 5 weeks later so if we have room, I can ship your bike back on that one. Shipping times will be 3 weeks oubound and 5 weeks return but you can put all your riding kit in there with the bikes so you can fly out with hand luggage.

As with all my trips, I try and avoid the big cities and we keep to the back roads to give you a real taste of what the US has to offer. We stay in mid range "mom and pop" motels and eat at small "mom and pop" restaurants. The trip will be around 5000 miles max door to door and as anyone who has been with me will tell you, the riding is generally very easy because of empty roads. There will be a couple of 400 mile days between Tennessee and Colorado just to get through the mid west where there is precious little to see. It's also a good trip for pillions as there is no off road shenanighans and the roads are excellent quality.

PM me with your e-mail address for more route details etc or mail me directly to [email protected]

If anyone want to do both trips and really go for it, this in my itinerary for the Coast to Coast and Alaska trips http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?357845-Alaska-2015 so if you want to tag along, be my guest but bring an airhawk!!.

Depart Norfolk Virginia 13th June and arrive Santa Rosa Friday 3rd July 2015 (5000 miles)
Load coast to coast bikes on container Tuesday 7th July 2015, Service bike and have a couple of days off.
Depart Santa Rosa Thursday 9th July and arrive Anchorage Tuesday 16th July (3000 miles)
Get bikes from customs on Wednesday-Thursday
Depart Anchorage Saturday 18th July and arrive Santa Rosa California Friday August via a different route (5200 miles)

It's all very do able, I like a challenge and it should be enough to run in a GSA WC :thumb.

For all interested in this trip, I'll be having an open day at Skygods Adventure bike emporium in Salford Manchester www.adventurebikewarehouse.co.uk on Saturday 2nd August 2014. I'll have fleshed out a lot of the details by then so if anyone is interested in this, or the Alaska trip I'm doing after it, come along from about 1pm and I'll have lots of information. For all those who have already contacted me, I'll remind you by e-mail.

I will do a powerpoint presentation and will be able to answer all of your questions.

Skygod has said he will do one of his famous chilli's and there will be tea and coffee on tap.

Just a reminder about next Saturday's (2nd August) pre trip meeting at Adventure Bike Warehouse in sunny Salford.:thumb2

Everyone is welcome to come along even if you aren't coming on next years trips. Hearing me waffle on about riding in the US may trigger something in you to do it at some point. Also, Skygod's "Mans Chilli" is worth the trip from just about anywere:D
