Nothing like a bit of unexpected chaos to test admin arrangements! The story I have is that a train broke down in the tunnel earlier today. That was eventually rescued but the catenary was damaged in the process. Repairing the damage has taken much longer than expected. Given that this is the busiest couple of days for ET and they are running a hugely reduced service, the delays are only going to get longer and longer until they get it mended, and will then take a while to clear the backlog. Instead of three crossing per hour, they are now operating one crossing every 90 mins (according to the cust serv desk).
So, I have bailed out of a long, long wait at Eurotunnel and 'suspended' my ticket. This means I can pitch up any time within 24hrs and they will slot me on to the next crossing with any room. Given that they were already fully booked all day tomorrow, that may entail another long wait. (On the very slightly brighter side, I was told at Customer Services that I will get a full refund for the original crossing, AND a complimentary crossing to boot.)
Assuming the problems in the tunnel are resolved overnight and I don't have to wait TOO long tomorrow, I will catch up with you all at the hotel in Vianden. That may involve a motorway dash.
Good luck everyone!
EDIT: Incidentally, they have now upgraded the 5 hr delay to a 6-hr delay!
