Having now fitted the gsa with some tkc jobbies, and having tested them, anyone up for a ride out next saturday afternoon or sunday. Bit of road and some green lanes in the area. Most of the lanes i know are pretty easy, so who`s up for a trek about.
or is it the case of------------>:tumbleweed

Horse me old fruit, you may well have a better chance of mustering some interest if you retitle the thread something like 'Easy green laning near Basingstoke Saturday or Sunday who's in?'....otherwise it probably won't get much of a look which would be a shame ;)

would this really be newbie freindly? havent been off orad simce my teens and have a new to me 1200 with std tyres, would I be likely to return on 1 peice?!

He joins the thread with a sense of trembling in his knees! In for a penny, not ridden off road since setting fire to the farmers field on a home made moped in 1643...recently acquired a 1200 that i already feel extremely attached too...not bothered about dirt its the dents and bent bits, but, happy to have a crack if noone minds baby sitting???

I am up for this too.

To all the noobs - There will always be someone to help pick up the bike (and a few more to take pictures!!)

I could be up for this as well. Provided it warms up a bit next week. Still waiting to get the X-Ch dirty!

Well as i started this thread, how about this for a plan. i will go out saturday 10th of jan in the afternoon for a reckky. Then how about meet up somewhere nr Alton. there are a couple of tracks to get towards basingstoke. No big rush for the newbie`s. Then we make are way towards kingsclere direction. Now my uncle has a nice pub at wolverton, we can either have a sunday lunch stop there or sunday evening. Very nice warm welcoming country pub. So whats the thought chaps. Lunch time stop at the pub then some more riding or meet at perhaps loomies sort of 11ish bacon roll and coffee. Then a ride out, and get to the pub for sort of evening food.

Let me know chaps.

must see if I can get some engine bars this week.....and if its a vote and I can make it then earlier please, like to save my all-day passes for the summer ;)

I'm interested as well morning suits me better and tyres I've fitted to my bike are bit crap really... so an easy try out might solve the problems I'm having with'em.

Scrub my previous comments - just realised I can't do next weekend at all. :-(

Any chance of joining you for the recky? Saturdays work better for me.

Nigel

Evening all, i have checked out couple of the lanes, most are passable even with knobblies, there are plenty of places to get round the muddy bits. I will be checking out the other lanes on this sat 10th. Ok general thoughts that sunday am is best. i have couple of lanes just outside alton behind golden pot pub, so looking at fellow tossers most are coming from area nr to alton so how about meet at either loomies or any thoughts.
What about finishing off at my uncle`s pub for lunch then.
Oh one last thing, one of the lanes is seriously rutted and very deep mud hole (trust me i found out, knobblies only just managed).
It is possible to skip this lane, it just a short lane behind conkers garden centre.Or if you are up for mud bogging then will leave this lane in route
Any other thoughts let me know.
