Is there an easy way to refit the rear wheel back onto the hub?
Took my about 10 minutes yesterday to refit the thing.
I found it difficult to align the holes in the wheel with the bolt threads in the hub. Heavy thing to lift as well:surrender or maybe I am missing something?

Obtain two extra wheel retaining bolts. Cut the heads off and hacksaw a slot in the cut face to accommodate a screwdriver.

Screw these modified bolts into the hub prior to installing the wheel. Rotate the hub so the modified bolts are at 3 & 9 o'clock.

It's then much easier to offer the wheel to the hub using the bolts as a guide.

When wheel is on hub screw the normal bolts at 6 & 12 o'clock in and remove modified bolts and replace with normal.

Put the bike in gear, put the wheel in place, hold a bolt in place and turn until the holes line up and the bolt pops in. Takes seconds.

LOL... thats what I do... but just seemed too obvious. (i thought maybe the OP had a different bike with a different set-up)

my 1150 rear wheel has a spacer ring(approx 1.5mm thick) is this standard? it makes fitting the rear wheel a pain cos its an extra set of holes to line up and the bloody spacer slips off:spitfire

how much

SWMBO bought me a blue alloy mounting bolt from Wunderlich. It made refitting the rear wheel very simple :thumb2

mine hasnt got a spacer ring?

The wheel spacer is for ABS bikes. It compensates for the thickness of the pressed steel ABS ring behind the brake disc. (not sure if it's used with cast ABS rings though )

:thumb Thirded way easier than putting a rear wheel back in a chain drive bike.....though I usually do that by sitting on the ground with the wheel balanced on my feet till I get the holes to line up. :D
