just been using a pals 2610 to travel some backroads in Wales. He left the mapsource at home so we have been doing the routing on the 2610. What a pain! Might be easy to say to it "we are here - get me to there by the quickest / shortest" but near impossible if you want to follow the farm tracks / white roads / B roads over say 200 miles.

The problem is the small screen . So what is the Quest like? Must be worse unless there is some extra software.

Am I right in thinking that you can copy the mapsource prog onto as many PCs as you like but can only download a route to one or two GPS sets for which you need the unlock code?

And can you use Autoroute to send routes to the 2610 - its better than mapsource in that it shows contours

just an idear, have you ...1.go into routing, then go to custom, and turn on OFF ROAD ..2.then look at custom roads prefs, avoidance
tick u-turns,toll roads and highways, leave UNPAVED ROADS not ticked, maybe this will help, never done it myself, but the unit has sent me up some roads that are very small, with loads a grass growing up the middle, and this was when I had unpaved roads enabled....
good luck, and as I say, just an idear..stay safe, spock....
