Don't turn it on, that way you don't need to turn it off.
Why would you want to ? It’s a useful tool on a Liebherr crane 
Need to go into tft menu, should tell you in the hand book what you want to know...

Very simple the tft is set up so it displays your most used modes, I think it’s 4 maximum that can be displayed if you go into settings, vehicle settings then driving mode preselection. You can add a different one and de select eco. Page 81 of the manual.
Tell your dopey mate to access the TFT menu using the wonder wheel.

Doesn't he have "MODE" button on the handlebars?
Only gives four of the several available you have to access via the menu as mentioned earlier.
