Can anyone point me in the right direction to remap /tune /alter /put right my snatchy throttle on this Freeride?
Bought it to do some LTD events on which i think it's going to be ok for apart from its very jerky from a closed throttle, ie just when you want it to be nice and smooth, you know ..just how a carburettor bike used to be.....any pointers... from anyone in the know?
Thanks

My FE 350 is like that, I looked into the options, I was considering a Power Commander with just a downloaded map as not bothered about "optimising 100%", just fixing the snatch, but the only maps Dynojet have online are for US spec bikes which have different OE maps - so are useless for UK bikes....

...So you need a bit of dyno time, I spoke to Dave Woods Racing about this, and he said he could do a custom tune on a power commander, ideally you would want a road tyre fitted for the dyno, but he reckoned he could sort the fuellng OK with knoblies fitted....

...But dyno time + Power commander was getting a bit pricey, so I just put up with it, did try a "fuel dongle", but the only thing I noticed was it used more fuel, it may have been a smidge less snatchy, but not sure it was more than a placebo so took it off, as rather have the extra range and not over-fuel the thing.

I don't want to be a harbinger of doom, but sell the bike and get a 350 4T if you can find one.

Don't waste your money (#idid) trying to make the 250 work. Spent about £400 and this was years ago. Two tune shops. Both gave up and said it is what it is. Performance reed valve (waste of money). From memory, both places said it was to do with the stupid squashed exhaust on it. As a 2T it needed a more stock KTM front expansion box, which the FR doesn't have, just a tiny flat thing (by comparison).

I was lucky in that AMS took it back and KTM paid me back - I instantly bought the 350 4T and enjoyed owning it. Great underrated off road bikes and you can get a performance map that makes it spot on.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If you do manage to fix the issue then I'd be interested how. Well, not very interested. A bit maybe. :thumb
