Just setting up my EE contract IPhone for travel in Morocco in a couple of days and they tell me they can’t set up and mobile data as a bundle (text and phone are ok).

Anyone experienced this with EE ?
What options are there to have mobile data ?

Thanks in advance of your expert guidance

Cheers Dane

Not the same but went to Egypt last month
EE had a poor bundle of 500mb and horrendous call / text charges sending and receiving
EE advisor suggested I bought a sim for the trip from the airport - I ended up getting one at a tobacconists
I would say that it was worth getting the shop to load the sim and register it before you leave to make sure it is good to go
Got an Orange one with 40gb for about £15

Worth a read

Remember you can buy e-sims nowadays so you don't even have to visit a shop in the country you are visiting

Go onto the best providers website and purchase it and you put that 'code' into your phone and heh presto....local sim with data etc

I have my iPhone 12 set up with EE using an e-Sim which means my main SIM slot is free. I can then install Lobster (Spanish) or INWI (Moroccan) SIM cards when I travel. Data is really cheap in Morocco.

The other thing it's worth doing before you leave the UK is to download offline maps for Google Maps. This means that even if you don't have a signal you can still see where you are thanks to the combination of your smartphone's in-built GPS receiver displaying your location on your offline map.
