Anyone resident in mainland EEC willing to buy something on eBay and forward it to me in the UK ?

It’s an Airhead related electrical component and the seller is in Italy.

I thought I had this bought but the seller just refunded me saying he doesn’t want to get involved in shipping to the UK. Mainland Europe only.

Not looking for a freebie here. Just some assistance with a purchase that I’m happy to compensate for.

if not already, join the airheads association uk facebook page. There are quite a few members in Europe, although the group says UK :)

Where in Italy is the seller.I'm in Italy and if not to far from my route I can collect and bring back.I'm in Anzio until Saturday then making my way across to Rimini.You never know (y)

Long shot - but thank you.

From his eBay account he’s in Pino Torinese, northern Italy just South of Turin.
 
Problem is anyone in Europe getting the bits for you will be stuck with the same Customs Issues .

Pre Brexit we always boxed our luggage up that we would not need on the return journey from Austria and post it home leaving the bike lighter , post Brexit it required each and every item of our own clothing to be itemised on a shipping roster along with its weight and value listed clearly ie " underpants one pair blue etc etc " .

On checking we would possibly be liable to Customs duty in Austria BUT we would definitely have to pay duty on the package on its arrival back in the UK

Lifted following from the WEB

"When sending personal property from Austria to the UK without a Transfer of Residence (ToR) relief claim, you must complete a standard international customs declaration (CN22 or CN23) via Österreichische Post and pay any applicable UK import VAT and duties upon arrival. [1]

How to Complete the Declaration
    • Accurate Description: Clearly write "Used Personal Effects - Not for Resale" in the item description field.
    • Detailed Inventory: Include an itemised list of the contents with estimated second-hand values rather than leaving the value blank.
    • HS/Commodity Codes: If possible, use the general code for used personal property (9905000000) or specific codes for categories like clothing or books. [1, 2]

Tax and Duty Implications
    • No Relief Applied: Without an approved ToR reference number, UK customs will treat the parcel as a standard taxable import. [1, 2]
    • Thresholds: Gifts under £39 may avoid charges, but full personal shipments of used goods risk assessment for standard UK import VAT (typically 20%) and potential customs duty based on their estimated value. [1, 2]
    • Carrier Fees: The courier or Royal Mail will contact the recipient in the UK to collect any owed tax and a clearance handling fee before final delivery. [1] "
 
Yes. You can arrange to have it sent to me in Holland. Provided it’s OK to take as hand luggage on a flight then I can bring it over and post to you. I am commuting weekly.
But please note. It must be small enough to fit in my hand luggage, no restrictions that they confiscate it and then postage UK side is for your account.

And no I won’t buy it for you. You can pay for it and use my NL address. That should solve your problem. No exceptions or negotiations….

Sorry for being so direct but some cnut in the past tried this and I paid for it and then the twat disappeared leaving me with the crap he wanted. Probably found it somewhere else……
Chucked it in the bin and if I ever catch up with said matey…. He’ll be dispatched with the preverbial swift kick you know where…..

You can send it to me in IRL if seller agrees and we can figure it from there. Pity it wasn't couple weeks ago, plenty folk in Leenane this weekend will be heading back to UK.

Appreciate the advice and kind offers.

We have a solution and the item is bought and paid for.

It will be coming to me by a circuitous route and may take a while, but I’m in no rush.

It’s a G/S headlight bracket that has proved unobtanium elsewhere
