I definitely didn’t see that. All I got was a simple acknowledgement (in green) that I’d been pre-registered for entry into Stockholm, Arlanda airport.

I’m confused. Why do we have 2 threads on more or less the same EES topic both started by our edit happy Mod.
Would it be possible to combine?

Because the app (assuming it is functioning) - designed to make life easier for non-EU passport holders, apparently - is quite separate to bods’ moans, joys, questions and Lord knows what else * about the EES entry and / or exit system.

At the moment the app still only seems to function in Sweden (not on many punters’ list of destinations) and Portugal, which is perhaps more popular as a destination. There again, it’s probably only of any use if you arrive by air or (possibly) sea. For those lucky enough to hold an EU country’s passport, the app’s probably of very little interest or indeed, use.

Whether the app will ever be rolled out to embrace all the EU countries remains to be seen.


* Up to and including a friend of someone being ticked off (by UK immigration) for overstaying in the EU.

As far as I can make out, when you arrive at immigration at say, Stockholm Arlanda airport, you present the QR code (created by the app) which is preloaded with the answers to the standard questions asked of you by the immigration officer on arrival.

The questions were the same as those asked of me arriving at Rotterdam airport from London City on Sunday night.

We’ll see if the opportunity to present the QR code presents itself on Monday and / or when I go to Portugal later in the month.

The app reading machines were not active on arrival at Stockholm’s Arlanda airport.

The very helpful lady on the immigration check, didn’t know why they were turned off.
