About the recalc question, I have done a couple of trail routes and have intentionally gone off planned route, I have found that the zumo recalc's to the next waypoint not the whole route so it shouldn't be a problem if it isn't sorted by Garmin before I go (hopefully)
In that case, why not make loads of waypoints, say one every mile or so down the chosen trail, in order that you don't get far off route before being directed quickly back onto it ??
In my limited experience with Mapsource and routes, I've found that placing the waypoint outside towns/villages means you don't have to navigate via the town centre and can pass through the outskirts via the road route planned without the damned thing trying to route you back towards town if you missed the town centre.
Thanks for the tip!
Have more or less done that, but done it so the waypoints have all something daft as the title, ie piss break, hurry up fatty, its your round etc. Just to put a little smile on my face when the lads actually start riding the route and are wondering whats going on, I know a bit daft but a little humour all helps
Rich.
Lead has arrived okay, but have been very busy all weekend what with the rugby and the new LCD tv arriving at the same time something had to give, so that will be on the to do list before the GS meet on Thursday, if we aren't all up to our armpits in the white stuff by then.
Just slightly off topic.
Rich I'd like to thank you for fitting speakers and mic to my newly purchased Shoei Multitec when you were at the ally pally. My partner also thanks you for her new mic
All fitted to the bike now and all working fine, can't wait to test run it on the weekend. Not a lot of room on a GS1200 to fit all the Gubbins but have it sorted so they are out of harm and rains way, thank the lord for cable ties Off for a well earned beer, as the lovely lady has gone out with Her mates
