Elusive jacket/Trousers

Arsey,

Having read your post again if you want a waterproof jacket that will be used in the summer more than winter and thats so comfortable you dont realise you are wearing it ( even tho its fully armoured) get down to a BMW dealer and try on the BMW Comfortshell Jacket. Its by far and away the BEST jacket I have owned , better than my Rukka.

100% waterproof (tested in Scotland) but unlike most gortex jckts its water proof on the outside so it doesn't 'hold' water and get heavy&cold.
Its got amazing thermal qualities that keep you cool in summer yet even with temps of less than 10degrees this a.m. and no liner I was fine on my commute to work with just a very thin base layer t shirt on.

Its fekkin expensive but its my favourite bit of kit:thumb

I posted here when I had just bought it , there is some links for more info'

Ian.

Ta v much.

I'll have a look at that.

Rev'It Cayenne Pro

A mate has just bought this jacket.

It does look well constructed, but the jacket is quite short (it's only the pants they do in short and long versions) and the waterproofing isn't goretex. It's something called Hydratex.

Yep, it's Hydratex :thumb2

It's made by Goretex in the same factory. Rev'It didn't want to pay the money it costs to have the licence to put Goretex on the label so they get the same material and have to call it something else. It's like own label Goretex. :nenau

Mine has stayed 100% waterproof all the way back from Skye in torrential rain and gale force winds. :P

Mutters,thanks for that info.

I might take another look at his jacket.

PS.

Edited to add-just had another look at the Rev it website.

What colour Cayenne Pro did you get ? (Got any pics ?)

Have you got jacket and pants ?

Am I correct in thinking that the thermal liner and Hydratex waterproof liner are separate and you can remove one or both without the other ?

Job Done !!!

Right....

After trying on my mate's Rev'it Cayenne Pro jacket and having had a good pick around it,I've ordered one myself, but in a size bigger.

I went for this colour :

<img src="http://img.skitch.com/20080930-jg9ung7far9uwypcmwqsgnx7g9.jpg" alt="cayennepro red"/>

with black pants from Harpers Race Shop.

Looks to be extremely well made and very versatile, with great venting and both removable thermal and waterproof layers.

The thermal layer is thin enough that the jacket doesn 't balloon out when the jacket is worn with the thermal layer removed.

Loads of info here (if somewhat anal !!)

Ta for all the advice guys.

Really? where did you hear this?

I just got my cayenne pro. so far, I love it. I've heard the upper "100% waterproof pockets" are anything but. Would you store your phone in that 100% waterproof pocket?

I heard it from the National Sales Manager from Rev'It at the NEC last year. They were showcasing the new range and I tried it on there. :thumb2

The waterproof pockets on mine appear to do the trick and I had my phone in the pocket all the way back from Sky :nenau

Sorry for the delay in replying. Yes you can have one without the other :thumb2
