I have just recently bought a Guzzi 1100 sport.
The engine casings are a little shabby any ideas how i could go
about brightenin it up.
I really dont want the hassel of takin the engine outa the frame.

Nitromours !

Its lifting the old scabby paint O.K but what now ,
Any of you tried bead blastin, sand blastin ?
Any easy solutions ,

One of my old guzzi's - LMmk2 - i took the motor and box out - taped all the holes up, bead blasted the whole thing, then sprayed it with satin black engine paint.

Looked bloody good

has it got painted cases? 'cos if it has, you will at least have to do what motomartin suggests.

if not, jizer, hot water & dishwasher powder, probably brake/carburetor cleaner & shitloads of elbow grease will do it.

no magic bullet i'm afraid :D

ps. top 2 suggestions my spell checker comes up with for motomartin are: outsmarting & motivating.

shurly some mistake

If it's ali cleaner you want, have a look in the For Sale thread, posted by Steptoe, R80GS, K Reg 1993 -- £995.

Rob Farmer has posted details and a photo. Stuff called TE Euro.

I bought 4 litres locally £6. Have used it on the engine of an R80/7 I'm re-building and on the carbs. It does work!
