A clanking noise which seems to come from the right cylinder, or just behind it, has come out in the last period.
The bike only has 4K miles.
The noise happens only when the engine is warm and can be heard at low rpm even when the gear is not engaged.

Any idea?

What you describe sounds like a lazy cam chain tensioner , you need to take it to a dealer to have a listern . There has been a couple in the past where the tensioner sticks . Hope this helps .

Thanks, the dealer is a 40 miles from here. Is it safe to ride it?

Would not like to say to be honest , if in doubt get it recoverd in if possible . Better to be safe than sorry .

A 'clanking noise'

Well, that seems to describe what comes out of both my cylinders - but then I would have said the same about my previous 7 BM's! However, just as well to have it checked - a quick fix on their computer can work wonders.
