engine compatability

a friend of mine has a bitsa r75/5, he suspects it has a 60/5 motor,prob because its gutless! is there any easy way of telling? would barrels be marked or is there any obvious things to look for ?

Not sure about the /5 series but later barrels have an 8 ( 800cc ) or 10 (1000cc) stamped on the tops near the crankcase.
