engine (crash?) bars

My 1200gs arrives next week and I'm already worried about dropping it.Anybody have an opinion on which bars look good and are best at the job, and are there any good net sites relating to Green lanes in the Midlands.

I doubt you will drop her whilst on road, but its almost a certainty when off roading. I bought Hepco-Becker bars from Nippy Norman and they do the job well but the paint finish can chip easily. A search around the forum should give you all the info you need to get an informed choice of bars. Enjoy your new bike, they really are great.

Crash bars on the GS

I had the standard BMW ones fitted from new last year and amazingly they have not been tested - touch wood ! They look good in stainless steel. (On my 1150GS I also had the BMW bars and they were tested (happily when stationary) many times and did their job well) Brian
