Never having owned a beemer before, I have found that when I start the GS up from cold I always let it idle a while before rideing, usually wheel it out of the garage and start it, and then while it is idleing I will put my helmet and gloves on,. gives it a chance to warm a little, but if I wheel it any distance before rideing it it cuts out, and it does it every time. is this the norm or do you think I have a problem?, it never does it once its warmed up properly.

DPH

If your sidestand is down and you wheel the bike the engine will stop.

It's normal.

If you'd a been @ the NNW meeting tonight I coulda told ya!:D :D

Hi Drinkingparrothead,
This does not sound like a problem at all. You should feel relieved that you came here for advice before going to a garage to get it checked out. Some mechanics I've dealt with in the past are real SHARKS and convince you there is an expensive problem developing. You don't want to sing to their TUNA do you?

Just take the bike out, ride it lots and in a couple of months you can be riding through the hills BASKING in the sunshine and generally fEELing great (white shark).

Oh dear, I seem to be trawling the bottom of the ocean so I'll be off now....

It's all very well trying to be funny and SKATEing over the problem but DPH is TRAWLING for a LINE to help him with his FISHY business.

I HADDOCK a clue what he was goin on about but as he's a Cumbrian he could always come over to my PLAICE to SALT it out and together we should BATTER some sense into it.

Perhaps DPH should call his bike:

WANDA!

Starting cure.

Try replacing your engine oil with some Cod Liver Oil!!!!! this may help.:beerjug:

Nice heering the help offered on this site. It gills me a real good fillet and worms the cockels of my haddock.
I think the bike has been mollycoddled enough and now needs a good panning. That should clear any scales out of it.
