The project

94' with 68k mls showing on the clock. Its a bit rough but came with a supposedly half decent replacement engine that i,er replaced,assisted by a couple of mates over the festive period.Easy to dismantle and remove but a hoor to get back together. I have a damaged spare motor that i want to get repaired.

oh - as to the original question;
sorry - i know of no one trustworthy / but i'm sure someone will be along in a minute....
Good Luck with it :thumb2

If you could get the engine down here, I know someone who could do it in his sleep. And probably does... :augie

The labour charges for that type of job would be huge!!. If you've got a spare engine in the bike and a bench I'd get a manual and have a crack at it yourself. Its more about being methodical/patient than anything else :D

Joe, happy new year to you.Glad to hear about the starter:aidan and that you are returning in in March. Im sure you'll have some good stories and film?
Regarding the engine damage,i bought it with the engine blown. There was a lot of oil under the bike on the exhaust and engine. The previous owner was not sure what happened. I think it may have run low on oil which caused the damage. There is the head of a valve stuck in the piston. If it was something like the bike running lean and doing that damage i would maybe take a chance and replace the head,valves and piston,but as it may have been an oil issue i think the best course of action is a complete refurb. Anyhow just in case you have any more bother i have plenty of bits for you to choose from now!!!:thumb
