Hey you can't own a location man!!
Hi All,

Just got my bike back after getting 2 new cyclinders and pistons due to the right hand piston wearing away the inside of the cyclinder.

It started about 2 miles from home one morning, with a sudden loss of power then a very loud metalic sound coming from the right cyclinder, this got louder through the morning. Engine seems to be fine, with no lasting damage, but after 1400 miles I now have to go through running it in again, so not best pleased!!

Can anyone let me know if this has happened to them?

My bike was steadily using less & less oil up to about 2500 miles, then went the other way. When it reached 1 liter per 250 miles I took it in. Tech said something about out of round cylinders. Took it in at 5000 miles, did the break in all over & now with 6200 miles seems okay. But of course I will be keeping a close eye on it. How the pluck do the cylinders get out of round?

Andy, you going to the christmas bash?

Anway, I can't think how the hell the pistons can move or become less round, or the cyclinder, but it does make you aware of every noise coming from the engine - which is not the best way to relax on a new bike.

Cheers for the feed back guys!
