I expect the readings to be quite normal. There is very little liquid in the BMW cooling system and the performance of the radiators will vary significantly depending on the ambient temperature and the velocity of air over the radiators. The cooling fan will kick in before high coolant temperatures become a problem (assuming you have not fitted an excessively restrictive radiator guard)
A point to watch from the F800s, some fans were prone to failing due to not being used for 99.9% of the time, the cooling was so good. When eventually it was required the diagnostics flash up an engine failure warning, I found it best to spin the fan after every wash and occasionally let the engine idle until the fan runs.
