OK, first of I know I'm a twat and should have written it down:blast

Anyway, for some reason my entourage account has know asked me for the password which of course I can't feckin remember. I've had the computor 4 years and when I set it up, I obviously gave it a password, added it to the MAC password chain and then it has never asked me since.

I have been asleep a few times since then and I've tried all the passwords I would normally use to no avail. I've looked at the whole thing and can't find a way to recover the password now I've lost it. I can change it but of course I have to know what the original one was.

Any ideas chaps?

Progs usually start asking for stored info if you do a cache clean or some other system clean up, which clears out files where PW's are held.

No idea if it's possible on a sillyMac, but if it were a PC, I'd try restoring the thing to a previous date where it was working :nenau

Oh, and

Ignore him, he's a Luddite :)

Try running applications->utilities->keychain access, and look thru the passwords view for a likely candidate. If your lucky its in there, if ms decided to really store it somewhere else you could be fffd.

Thanks Ian, done that and the password is what I thought it was!! The bloody thing won't accept it for some reason. Funny thing is, I'm getting mail on the i-phone but it won't send it because of the password issue:nenau

Will have to keep digging.

Check/Google your "SSL" settings (I think)...... Seem to remember I had an issue receiving & not being able to send & it was along these lines. Something like it can't be SSL Selected of something like that.

'Course I could be totally wrong :aidan

Yep your ISP might have started to enforce using ssl and also potentially authentication for sending. Have a look at you ISP setup instructions and walk through it again on your phone.

If its in OSX's password store:

Open up 'Keychain Access' (spotlight search) and have a butchers in there for it.

As long as you know the password for the Keychain.....
