Has anyone tried one of these, I've heard that for £25 they are money well spent?

From what I understand its a tank off, remove four security torx bolt from motronic ecu under tank, prise the unit apart, remove old chip and insert this new one.

Dont want to go fitting one if it buggers up me bike!!

Cheers Biker

Is your chip alright? and what difference it will make the new one?

yes I had one fitted to my 2003 GSA when I took cat off as it was supposed to cure the backfire and it did help a bit .

As you say take off the tank unclick plug undo the 4 torx screws and pull out old chip and fit new one its that simple

I still have it laying about somewhere so if you want to try it out let me know its for a 52 plate R1150 GSA single spark

Hows the fuel economy now? The price seems a bit cheap to offer a complete fueling solution.

Al :)

If it's the BB one that Motorworks sell I fitted one to my R850GS a few years ago. You are basically right re how to fit it, except that the new chip sits on another circuit board that replaces the original chip. It is programmable, using jumper leads in the moronic code plug socket - 4 for cat-less bike and 4 for those with a cat. Still got it somewhere. Can't say it made much difference other than making the engine run richer. In the end I took it off; better off with a good tune-up in my opinion, though for £25 maybe worth a pop.

the tick over dropped slightly and fuel economy went up slightly , but I did nt really notice any great difference to be honest
so put the original chip back in
