Anyone know what the slowest qualifying time is at the Erzberg for the top 500 that enables them to enter the proper race on the Sunday?

I know the fastest times are around the 9 minute mark for the 18km.

Not sure Possu but I quite fancy entering the prologue on the 1150 :D

The entry fee is pretty cheap: €75 to €100 I think. Two day drive from Calais (800+ miles) in a van, four days there, two days back. Worth the time & expense just in case you get inside the top 500?

From what I've seen and heard, getting into the top 500 would be as far as you want to take it :eek, pull a sickie and give your slot to the guy who came 501st.:thumb
A mate invited me to do it this year as his stag do, but I think the logistics of cramming the travel and the event into just three days was a bit much.

Bought the 2006 DVD recently, made me appreciate the skill of Knight etc. I doubt my chances of reaching the top 500 but am intrigued by the event.

I concider anyone even entering this contest to be a hero. You don't even have to be in the top 500 for that.
Respect to you! :thumb2

When I am in Austria I sometimes read a magazine called ‘Reitwagen’. Found a table of times for the Erzberg Prolog there. Only the first 300 are mentioned in very small print, so can not tell you about the rest of the results in 07.

So, first
Simon Kirssi on a HP2, first run 00:09:01,6, second run 00:08:44,03

Second was Werner Mueller, a local KTM dealer on a KTM 950, first run 00:09:03,33, second run 00:08:47,09 (he also started on a KTM 300 and was in 7th place with that one)

Third has been Juha Salminen on a KTM 300 EXC, 00:09:35,52, 00:09:07,62

On place 300 was
Robert Walder (another non professional local) on a KTM EGS 380, first run 00:11:08,06, second run 00:10:55,5.

Out of 1300 riders taking part in the prolog, 500 are making it in to the Hare Scramble, there only 19 have finished the race (all 15 check points) in 07.

Hope this helps.

There are a couple of other similar extreme events.
I watched a dvd of Red Bull Last man standing 2005 and 2006.
Again it is D Knight making it look so easy and I can safely say that I have no ambition to enter any of these events.
