For a few weeks I've had an intermittent fault with my LH indicator button, a quick search of the archives came up with this thread which opened up the possibility of replacing either the internal switch in the LH unit, or as was also suggested just removing the rubber weather sleeve over the button ... this I decided to do first as a possible no-cost fix.

However upon dismantling the switch unit I discovered an extra button where I suspect the ESA control would be! There's no hole in the casing for the button but it's wired in so must have a purpose :nenau Conveniently I've used the rubber weather sleeve from the spare button to fix the worn one on the indicator, although still a little intermittent it's 90% fixed. Anyone have any idea what the extra button would be for? It's a 2006 bike so I suspect pre-ESA.

Hazard warning lights? Early bikes had a dedicated switch for hazards in that position - might be an old base half of the switch.

Had it apart again yesterday to fix the indicator fault properly and tested the rogue button .... yeap it's hazard warning lights!
