Hi All,

My 2008 GSA rear OEM Shock finally gave out this week having just done 35,000 miles. I have spoke to the guys at revs who have quoted me £655 for fitting a new Wilbers WESA shock. Price wise it is a bit more than i wanted to pay (yeah i know a new oem one is over a grand), but i am getting married and have a wedding to pay for....

Was just wanting to get your opinions on what options were out their for me? I really want to keep the ESA functionality as i do swap between single and pillion riding a fair amount.

If anyone can offer any advice with costs if possible that would be great!

thanks everyone

Rob

Don't get married and buy the shock ;) :D

As above, it'll be cheaper in the long run.:D
There seems to be a few threads on here about getting a shock reconditioned, you might find them if you search.

Had my ESA shock done by Firefox, around 179 if I recall. Went at 22,000 :-(

Done a couple of thousand miles on it with no problems. They're not the best in communication but the work is warrantied and my shock feels like it did before.

I'm not the sort of person who would recognise the quality of a good shock, the standard one does me just fine which is why I opted for the repair.

Updates and costs

So i have spoke to a few people.....

As i mentioned in my first post i have been in contact with Revs, i have also contacted MCT and FireFox Racing. options seem to be:

1. Revs - £655 for a Wilbers WESA fitted and setup for my weight and riding style.
2. MCT - £89 to rebuild the original shock.
3. FireFox - £189 to rebuild the original shock.

I think i am going to try MCT first and see how good they are. if that fails i will have to plump for the wilbers.

Cheers for all the advice chaps!
