A little bit of everywhere...
Off to Spain for a Brittany Ferry ‘Sail & Drive’ week with my good lady wife.

Driving in the Smartie this time (did a Picos tour on the RT back in 2022). The cabriolet will be used daily we hope, staying in a selection of pre-booked Paradores, we are doing it in (comparative) luxury this time.

Always on holiday you.
Have a good one.

Hat off to you going in the Smart. My wife has a forfour and I wouldn’t like to go in that. We’re going by car to Chamonix in January but it’s going to be my pickup and not the Smart.
Have a great trip.

Arrived in Portsmouth and had a passable night in the Village hotel.

Brunch this morning with a buddy of mine who used to do this for the Navy…

Though he looks less balletic these days!

An early dinner now in a nice little Indian restaurant and then time to top off the fuel tank (it’s a VERY small car and a VERY small petrol tank), before we head to the ferry.

30 hours of tossing and turning lie ahead, wish us luck!

Enjoy your trip, looking forward to your pictures, and hopefully none of you stranded out of fuel!

Hope you’re not staying at the Parador De Corias near Cangas Del Narcea? You’ll be there all week playing in the basement 😜

We took a trip to Tuscany years ago, even managed a tent and slept a few nights in various campsites… amazing what you can fit in if you’re used to packing for panniers and a tank bag 😂

Good luck and on voyage. 👋

It’s stunning . The whole basement was an archeological dig, now preserved
I don’t think they would welcome my attentions…

A lot of geological work requires destructive testing, I doubt my Estwing would be seen as an appropriate & acceptable archeological tool 🤣😂

So many rocks, so little time…

And so it begins…

The travellers wandered the ship, searching for victuals...
Thwarted by a Gallic shrug when questioning the possibility of access to the exclusive ‘Commodore’ Lounge, we lighted upon a friendly inn keeper, setting out his wares.

On my Tour de France last year I got to thinking that touring in a smartie would be fun. Enjoy

Have fun.

Did Corsica all round in a Smart a few years ago: flew to Rome, requisitioned a Smart car from my parents (they had 2 at the time), then Livorno, Corsica clockwise and return.
You can actually load it with a fair amount of stuff and fun to drive on twisties. The later models are fairly capable and more stable at higher speeds.

Many years before I was in Brest, by motorbike, and met someone that traveled all the way there with a Smart car, from Rome, first series (the 600cc). I was impressed, because I owned that and it wasn't fun long distance. :D
