Essex or Herts Dirt

Cheers Greg.

Hope you managed to make it home OK.

It was very dry and hard round the Herts lanes.

Managed to Chritsen the sooper ahhhh by dropping it in soft sand.

It's an awsome bike. spent all morning spinning the rear. :bounce1

It was a great monring - well, it started out pretty well.

Dave's new KTM 950R, with its baffleless Akrapovics, can be heard 3 counties away! What an awesome sounding bike!

Meeting at South Mimms at 08.00hrs, we set out on the reverse of the usual Hertfordshire 'Fords' route. With both of us on road tyres, but with dry conditions, we were making some very quick progress.

That is until we reached the north end of Furneux Pelham ford - at about the same place that snoopy dopped his bike last year and near where Dave had a puncture last time out - only to find that I had a rear puncture caused by this nail right through the tyre:

I decided to fit a new tube (thanks for your help, Dave :thumb ) only to find that the tyre woudn't hold very much air. We gently rode to a garage at Standon where it was arranrent that all was not well. So I pumped it up to 50 psi and headed for home - duly arriving with a pretty flat rear tyre.

The problem was not a pinched tube as I thought, but a defect in the tube manufacture with the valve partially pulled through the tube. It all fixed now and ready for further action - like a ride to work tomorrow!

Greg
