Essex Regular Meet Up

Maldon Harbour 7.30pm Thurs 12th May

There are two pubs on the Harbour at Maldon, Speggo seems to think the Queen's Head is the one, but as they are in walking distance we can visit both, then opt for a favourite.
Unless it's raining, I suggest we mill around until we get a majority of bods and then we pick a pub. If it is p**sing it down, then go into the pub on the right hand side as you come down the hill to the harbour...is that the Queen's Head...Speggo?

See you there.

Queens Head is on the quay , Jolly Sailor is on the right on the way down the hill.
Might pop along as tho living in Herts I'm from Maldon , good excuse for a ride :)

I was looking forward to this but it seems the old social secretary has booked us into a Maldon restaurant on Thursday. May take a wander down after if I can.

Dissapointed.

I was hoping to come down too, but have been double booked.

I hope this goes well enough to warrant a reasonably regular gathering.

Have a good one.

I hope you've not got to eat at the restaurant that used to be the Mariners...whilst the Mariner's chef was brilliant, I went back a year later and the new owners and chef were frighteningly atrocious...seriously, seriously bad.

Try adding "May I suggest a gestational post meal sojourn down to the harbour" and then gasp with a look of suitably contrived surprise at some GS's and other assorted two wheeled frivolity.

I'm still on for this - if I get home in time:rolleyes: Where and when plz

Is anyone still going? In fact is anyone reading this thread? Come on, I want to talk bollox:)

Queens Head is on the Quay and is the better pub in my humble opinion. Not sure if they do food in the evening, so maybe Jolly Sailor is a better bet.Follow signs to Hythe Quay. I shall try to be down there from 7:30 to 8ish.

Either, or and perhaps even both!

every thursday in maldon then, Queens head OR Jolly sailor??? [/B]

Okay, The Queen's Head on Speggo's recommendation.
The Hythe, Maldon 7:30-8:00PM.

(we can always take a walk over the road if anyone wants to have a session with a Jolly Sailor...each to their own).

"every Thursday"...These things are monthly at most by tradition , however there's no reason why as a new exercise it can't be more frequent if that's what people want.

Just found out I'm babysitting early evening, so probably won't be there till about 9pm.

Also forgot to mention the A414 through Danbury is closed at present so best route is via 12 Hatfield Peveral turnoff.

Cheers

Speggo

Hey Dusan we could always take the offroad route to Maldon.
