I've noticed a few Akrapovic end cans for sale on here lately.
A recent one listed for 2016 on was apparently a Euro 3.
I'm hoping to get the next one that pops up.
I have a 1200GSA LC registered end of March 2017. Should I be looking for a Euro 3 or 4?
and in the words of Morrissey..."what difference does it make?"

Basically the same euro 3 and 4 , difference euro 3 you can remove the baffles, euro 4 you cannot, basically that is the only difference, and maybe a smidgeon of emission gas difference.

Euro 3, twin inlet pipes, easily accessible baffle removal screws: Euro 4, single inlet pipe, baffle removal screws hidden behind carbon fibre end cap, more difficult to remove the baffles but doable.

I fitted the Euro 3 to my Euro 4 bike and all seems to work perfectly fine. Some folks on this forum mentioned the engine temperature does rise slightly more but can't say I noticed. In the end, I also replaced the header pipes and then remapped. It was louder than I expected so I put the baffles back in...

I spoke to my local motorrad dealer who said they're not allowed to sell the Euro 3 exhausts for Euro 4 bikes but didn't seem to have a problem with anyone fitting to their bikes.

Until you file a warranty claim, I reckon

No problem fitting or running a EU-3 Akra on 2017 on EU-4 bikes.Only difference is 2 inlets and 2 outlets + removeable baffles on Eu-3 pipe while EU-4 us 1 in 1 out and much harder to remove baffle.Only reason for buying a EU-4 Akra if you like the look or if you live in EU-rope where police might give you trouble.
But after Brexit islanders will be fine...:thumb
I would keep the stock pipe or buy the EU-3 Akra no matter what year LC GS.
Got mine from nippynormans...

I like the look of that. They have a black version that would work well on my TB. Anyone else on here bought an SC project can? They look like Akra copies.

I've got one on my K1300R and on full chat, it sounds like a tomcat getting its bollocks nailed to a plank! A well made piece of kit, awesome!

To add my 2 pennies worth...(!), I fitted an euro3 Akrapovic to my 2018 GS Rallye, can be seen here; https://youtu.be/oO4bz1g75ng

The dealer didn't have a problem with it at all, and even when I took the bike in for its first service, they replaced the exhaust clamp for me, because I asked them too. The sales guys also mentioned that lots of his customers have put their euro3's onto their new euro4 bikes... that'll do for me :)

I have been running with the baffles in.... but I will try with them out too at some point!
Thanks all.
Yans.

Pretty sure I am going to fit a Euro 3 Akra to my early '17 GSA but also considering a full Akra header set too. Looking at it on then NN site I can see that it doesn't use the exhaust flap mechanism thats on the standard set up.
Anyone on here fitted one? Any good? What do you do with the flap fella?....Just remove it with the bold system I guess
