European breakdown cover 16 year old bike

Guys because of my bikes age I am having trouble sourcing breakdown cover for a nine day trip.

What does the rest of you use?

I did look at the AA but before even getting into age they were looking at £129

I've got my 18 yr old and my 16 yr old covered on my bikesure policy for £62 for the pair.

They are part of Adrian Flux, and it's called Flux rescue, hope that helps.

Be very careful with carole nash and get an agreed value for your bike. when my 100GS PD gearbox expired in Romania they took 24 hours to get back to me and only valued the bike at £1000. They will not spend more on recovery than the value they put on the bike. I was on the Serbian/Romanian border and they wouldn't get the bike home for me. They advice was to get a train to the airport and they would cover the cost of the train and flying home. When I asked about the bike I was told to park it up, leave it and forget about it and they'd give me a £1000 for it. Fortunately Gavin Bell saved the day and they shipped me and the bike to Gavins as long as I agreed that was the end of the claim. This was a much better solution as I got to spend some time at Gavin's and fixed the bike myself.

Most, if not all policies will only cover recovery up to the value of the vehicle.
They can't be expected to pay
£3k to recover a £2k bike.

that applies to all insurance and most breakdown policies will have a similar clause if you look closely

Am I right in thinking that ADAC are no longer accepting new non residence clients. Something about the AA getting pissed off?

Repatriation costs on pretty much all policies are only applied up to the value of the vehicle (cars included) the breakdown cover is there to get you to a local garage/dealer that can effect repairs at your cost, no different than in the UK.

just be sure of the small print as previously stated.

Most of the policies I looked into will get you too a garage to fix bike... They won't send a rescue truck to bring you home if you pannier lock is bust.... Unless it's Bmw assist....

Yep UK and Europe = £130, and Europe includes BiH and Montenegro for example, as shown on policy page 18 here:

No. It was false rumours.

I spoke to one of their reps in saarbrucken a few weeks ago and their call centre afterwards and there is no problem at all.

It's worth checking the small print on your bike policy. EBike would only cover bikes for breakdown if they were 10yrs old or less (couple of years ago - their underwriter may have changed)...
