Another thread on here lead me to join ADAC.

(post 43 is where I took the plunge )
Well worth a read. I did lots of research, but can't read or speak German. Joining was so easy, regardless of my lack of spreckenze Deutch.
Cost me and the wife just over 100 Euro joint cover ?(ADAC Plus cover , which went up in January for the first in years )
Driving or passenger in ANY vehicle in Europe. (12 month membership. I'd have spent half that on my 10 days in France alone)
Equates to the top membership of AA in the uk, who just happen to be their partner company and will be called out first in NI or GB.
I did find one downside..... International recovery is all inclusive, but in your own country it is only to the value of what I believe is 200 Euro. Don't quote me on that, but it was my take on the conditions. I'd still be prepared to stump up the excess if the bill is over that.
Why sould you def go for it....... ADAC apparently have the worlds largest fleet of air ambulances.
As a biker, this was my main worry. 20 or £30K to get flown home after a possible bike accident abroad scared me.
If a member gets injured anywhere in the world, they fly you home. In my case it extends to wife and kids for the £100 outlay.
I was offered full medical insurance abroad but I turned this down.
Only a few extra Euro, but I already have a separate policy.
Regretting not taking it, as I now think their cover would be 10 times better than my uk policy.
Only been a member since January. Never had to use it, but I have been very confident just by having their card in my wallet.
Germans don't do things by half and those members I've spoke to have convinced me it's a members club not a business.
