Evening in East London - 6th September

Boolocks - apologies to nadeem and the birthday boy. I was going to come to the pub because I thought you'd be meeting earlier than 7:30pm. I have to go somewhere else and pretend to be a grown up at 8:00pm, which is really why I couldn't go to the Lahore.

As penance I will make a contribution to TITS and say five "Hail Matrons"...

I'm sure I'll be missed :mmmm

I'll be finishing work about 5pm. I'll be making my way from Bank so a Pub crawl to the Curry house seems in order. :beer:

Just a thought......

I will have time to kill [all being well] and will probably be arriving via Aldgate East tube. I had a look on the net for 'pubs near Aldgate East' and found this one at the start of Commercial road on the way to the Lahore.
Its called the Castle....

Of course this part of London was but a spit from Jack the Rippers hunting ground and also the Blind Beggar pub where the Krays used to enjoy a shot or two......... Aurelius should be able to get himself a bar fight there!! I'll stand outside and hold your jacket mate!

okay - well folk arriving before 7.30pm can make their way over to there first and have a little drinky... :)
 
I'm waitin' on the b'day boy and his 'partner'...feck knows where they are...will give 'em a call now...
 
okay spoke to the lovers - pickin' them up at 5.30 so will be at the pub by 6.00-6.15...
 
The bastard keeps falling asleep on me!!

( I think he blames it on Jetlag but TBH I reckon all merkins are lightweights :rolleyes: )

What a cracking place...really great grub, exactly as those reviews posted said.....and 18 quid a head...top value!!!

Thanks to everyone who turned up, and especially to Nadeem for sorting it...I reckon we'll have to do that again and quite regularly :D
