Just wondered when the Evo brakes came out on the Adv please as the bike I'm buying doesn't appear to have them and it's supposedly registered in august last year. Anybody know please?
Cheers John

John,

all Advs have EVO brakes - they were introduced at the beginning of 2002 and can be identified by the calipers having BMW marked on them. Servo brakes came out on the GS sometime in 2003 - but, I believe, only on ABS models - no doubt someone will correct this....

Evo brakes

My ADV is non ABS and the only servo I`ve noticed is on the end of my right arm!

Thanks Mike O,
So what's the EVO set up? Mine has it, it's just the servo that's missing. Doh!!!
I presume it's better or is it just different than ABSII? Any advantages / disadvantages?
Sorry for all the questions just curious.
Cheers John

EVO

Mine has ABS with no EVO. You can order the bike with what ever setup you require. Mine is secondhand and it seems that the last owner did not want the EVO option

REGARDS
Mike

I specced my Adventure without ABS. Because of this i have no servo assistance, but i do have the BMW evo calipers. They're powerful enough and have plenty of feedback. If you have abs and evo calipers you will have servos assistance!
Hope that clears things up.:beerjug:
