EWS Fault wiring suspected

A little help please?
I have an intermittent EWS fault sometimes preventing starting
It is not the ring antenna as it was changed by the previous owner and it only happens when on right hand lock
So should I strip the wiring loom from the starter switch ?

Most likely the wiring near the headstock* is breaking up.

Only one key on the key ring??

Yes only one key although tried other key ?

Cracking wire where it flexes with steering is the most likely.

is it the battery?

I had a weak battery last month and sometimes after a few failed attempts to start an ews fault would pop up, changed the battery and all ok since
