Related to the what kit to carry just in case- I didnt want to clog his thread with this question but would like to know how to fit an EWS Ring Antennae in an emergency if mine were to fail? Does anyone know? Also might anyone know the cost of this part if i were to carry a spare in case of failure (Already had it happen once- not fun!)- Any info appreciated

Quite simple to do.

Take your spare ring antenna and tape your spare key inside it. Take the plug from the bottom of the existing ring antenna and place this in the new one. Tie the new one to the handle bar - position dictated by length of lead.

Use you existing key in the ignition as normal. The spare key and ring antenna tke over the communications to the ECU and the existion ignition switch does the rest.

I think I read that after starting, the said spare key can be removed from the said spare antenna and kept in yer pocket.

Hey this is looking good- Can you provide a step by step fitting or is it literally that easy (plug in, secure and tape the key to it?) I have just been quoted £84 for the antennae- an expensive spare part

Yes it really is that easy. The spare key CAN be removed after the engine is running.

Either that or position it close enough to your ignition key so that it can communicate with it.
