Having seen my bike started up for the first time today, a 54 reg R1200GS, I noticed the start up sequence included a brief flash of the EWS! on the LCD display.
The bike started up without a problem but having read a lot about the antenna ring failure relating to the EWS warning, I wanted to know if it's normal for this message to flash briefly when turning the ignition on?
As I only get 1 month's parts and labour warranty with the bike I want to make sure nothing's either on its way out or already has a fault.
The bike has just had a new battery fitted and has only been started a couple of times during its time in the workshop for servicing with the new battery fitted.
Can someone confirm that this brief 'warning' is normal? The message disappears just as quickly once the computer has done its self-start checks and I go to start the engine.
