Ex long way round/ down bikes...........

I've got garden furniture with a tougher finish than my bike frame.

Mines not too bad, its rubbed a bit where my boots touch, just like any other bike would with foot pegs in that position, other than that it looks new (under the dirt:D)

Only Fools and Horses

I do love this forum - there is always fun to be had but I hadnt reckoned on conspiracy theory. :)

We all know (dont we?) that the dynamic duo had whole bike replacements during LWR - check the footage and notice the miraculous new and gleaming machinery where moments before they were rat bikes.

Now that isnt a conspiracy it is based on the extreme lengths that BMW went to, to ensure success. They had their top techies plus more parts than you need to build a floatilla of bikes on constant standby and whizzing around the World to maintain the brand image as seen by us punters.

Conspiracy - no. Good marketing - yes.

BUT, the bikes are tough as old boots and the fellas still had to put the hours in.

Fox Mulder. :green gri

A bit like Trigger's broom - "Had it for years, only had 4 handles and 7 heads"

That is classic Fools and Horses, if anyone wants to see it it's well worth watching this clip.

According to todays MCN, Williams of Manchester are selling replicas of the LWR bikes, soon there will be dozens of them. :eek

More marketing, :augie they have nothing on them that you cannot spec from a BM delaer when you purchase without the word 'replica' being attached.

Am I becoming cyncial in my dotage? :rob

Have just bought the Charley Boorman replica, I unfortunatly agreed with wifey that if she let me swap my 1150GSA for new 1200 she could choose colour !

Ewan's LWD bike was at Goodwood this year, It was on the display for some expensive watch company :nenau

It certainly looked authentic enough (It even has a cable tie through the screen adjuster and broken spotlights)

hhhmmm interesting that the LWR 1150 has knobblies and the 2 LWD 1200's are sporting tourance tyres, if they are the original bikes and all that off road was done on these they should be saluted :nenau

As far as I remember they changed to TCK80 in Africa, and back again to tourance in South Africa...

Of course none of this means anything as we are all currently residing in gel filled bubbles being fed memories to keep our brains alive.......
