Livin' the dream.... (Lowstuff, Suffick)
After a visit to the Adventure Bike Shop in Sudbury and a discussion about Rox Risers a few weeks ago, the lovely Cliff, owner of said shoppe spent the day yesterday fitting 2" Rox Risers to my F800GS - the reason it took a while is because Cliff took the time, care and patience to completely replace the front brake pipework "system" with an elegant and simple 3 line affair which he will now be offering as a kit with the risers.

Apart from providing the additional length required, the kit does away with the frankly ludicrous criss-cross 5 line system on non ABS bikes, which those of you that visit the merkin site know can cause catastrophic failure when used off road in anger.

Transformed the bike, recommended mod.

No affiliation to The Adventure Bike Shop, just credit for excellent service, product, knowledge and coffee where its due.

Cliff also spotted my woefully flat tyres and sorted it, so thanks for that too!

That is all. :thumb2

Thanks for the positive post. I thought I would add a couple of pictures so you can see how much neater it looks.

Kits will be available if anyone else wants to make this modification to their Non ABS F800GS

Hopefully I will get the chance to measure an ABS model so that the 2" risers or 2" anti-vibration risers can be fitted.

The caliper bolts look a bit manky. It's not even winter yet!

It all adds to the adventure :augie

I normally give mine a periodic squirt :eek with ACF50.

Seems to do the trick, just don't get it on discs or pads as I have done in the past :censor:

Hi Dean, Thanks for the positive post and thanks for being the guinea pig by providing the F650GS for me, now I know what is needed to make the Rox Risers fit on the 650GS I can offer a kit so that anyone can fit the risers.

Note that the throttle cable needs to be rerouted so that it runs between the handlebar mounts and over the top of the yoke rather than under the yoke.

F650/800GS Abs Kit with longer brake hose and clutch cable will cost £57
F650GS Non Abs Kit with longer brake hose and clutch cable will cost £60

plus the risers, 2" solid risers £69.99 or 2" anti-vibration risers £134.99. There is a 3 1/2 inch riser available as well but I have not tried one of these on a 650GS yet but i think it would cause problems with the wiring loom unless it can be rerouted.

Kit for the NON ABS F800GS will cost more but I need to do a bit more work on that before I make the kit available, if you want this one then contact me.

I had Rox anti vibe risers on a Yamaha Diversion 900. They did a great job of stopping the buzzing vibrations of the inline four. So good the mirrors gave a virtually clear image.

The snag is they are not linked so any pull on one side such as climbing on or off the bike can twist that riser down. When I found the best height/pullback angle for the risers, I ended up fitting some 2mm roll pins to stop them turning in the frork top clamp.

Bendy risers !

Glad to hear you were happy with the anti vibe risers on the Divi, any chance of a picture of the modification you have made to them ?
