Exhaust clamp question

I bought a Remus can off here so as to junk the original exhaust system from the GSA (1150) - I have a Y-piece hanging in what passes for a shed, does it just push fit onto the downpipes, or is there anything else I need to fit it - and when I put the tail pipe on the Y-piece, I will need a new clamp. Anyone any idea what I need and where to get it - everywhere I have searched says there is nothing that fits this bike.

Help needed please, not derision and scathing remarks. My knowledge is limited to putting air in the bottom, petrol in the top, oil in the middle and the key in the slot...actually the key never comes out (even in town or when left at the airport) because I would only lose it if I did.

If you measure the outside diameter of the pipes you'll find some stainless clamps on eBay. Have a look at item 190779877052
I know it's 45mm on a 2000 single spark with standard cat

PS. Hope you're joking about your key. If it gets nicked with the key left in it, your insurance will be null & void!

Yup. Three clamps needed. One for each side at the downpipes and another for the end can. A smear of exhaust sealant wouldn't go amiss either, to make it all fully gastight.

Thank you guys - can I get exhaust sealant from a garage - instead of buying a pot, just get a spoonful to use?

Anything in particular to look out for with regard to exhaust clamps - there seem to be dozens of types.

Oh, and no I am not joking about the key - been in there fo rthe last 13 years quite happliy! Off to Italy for a few days work on Monday (yikes, that's tomorrow!). The key will be in the ignition, the sat nav will be in the holder and my helmet will be on the little hook beside the seat. Riding gear is in the panniers. The same as it has been for every trip, or when I go to town, I just pop my helmet over the sat nav and gloves on the seat under the grab handle, or in the top box if it is raining. All good!

Regarding the clamps, I've got the wider band type as shown in that eBay item number.

Going to go and have a butchers for them now - thanks for all the replies offering help.

Why do they have mild steel screws in a stainless exhaust band? Surely that defeats the whole object of having stainless in the first place? At least the Mikalour ones have a zinc plated mild steel screw.

If it's a normal metric thread (which I think it is) you could always replace the bolt with a stainless one
