Hi folks,

I'm pretty dissapointed with the twin pipe OEM Akra, it just sounds too soft to me. I've removed the "baffle" from the end can which make it sound a tiny bit deeper and I even installed the ES Eliminator which definitely makes a bigger difference but still not quite there for me.

On my 1200 I had the Leo Vince LV-One which sounds absolutely amazing and even had the removable baffle to make it sounds very aggressive.

Have you guys done upgrades? Any recommendations out there?

I think the whole EURO5 regulations are killing the exhausts so I'm not sure which one to go for... the new Leo Vince LV-14 looks cool but for the info I see on their website and sound recordings, I'm not sure if it'll get me there either.

Anyways, interested to hear (read) about your experiences and recommendations please!

PS: It should be able to fit panniers

Cheers,
Rami

Thanks for sharing this. Well... I'm not sure if I want to do through all that, basically destroying a pretty expensive can... not to mention the amount of work. I'd rather buy another can and sell the akra, which looks fantastic and would make someone else very happy for sure.

The question is, which pipe is the one to go!! And unfortunately they're not things that you can try and return if you don't like it.

Surely no exhaust , however good is going to make a rather unpleasant rattly engine sound any better ?

Why not speak to an exhaust fabricator to see if they can build what you want? They'll have decent knowledge of how to shape an exhaust to get the right tone. No doubt they'll be no more expensive than the off the shelf stuff.

You're here to hate on the engine, I'm here to get a good sounding exhaust. I hear you, I get it, but not the topic.
Not at all.
Many people have said it’s not the nicest sounding engine .I thought so too when I tried one.
Good luck in getting a good sounding exhaust but I’m pretty sure the sound of the exhaust is linked to the sound the engine makes ….

Good suggestion but, I've done that with a car before, paid extra for it and I wasn't happy with the result unfortunately. Not too many specialists here in Cork, Ireland, even less or none at all that would do motorcycles.

I'm sure they're off the shelf good ones, I just can't get a good sense of what they sound like out of a compressed video on youtube filmed with a phone and watched on my TV. Where for example, I've seen videos swearing that removing the baffle was life changer and it doesn't do much at all.

There doesn't seem to be too many reviews out there for after market exhaust out there for the 1300s yet either.

Try disconnecting the flappy valve cables. It's free and sounds better.

As per my first post, I have the ES Eliminator. It does sound better with the flaps open but still not the sound I'm after.

If you want to enhance the divine aural symphony emanating from the 1300, sounds like you need one of these

Besides the sarcasm, I appreciate the link and suggestion.

However, I'm looking at real owners sharing their experiences and not based on influencer shops that want to move products.

That can could very well be what I'm looking for, but I'd love for someone here that actually has it to share their experience as it's very difficult to judge sound over a video.

Doubt they’ll sell many as I bet it’s silly money , not that I’ve looked.

Edited to add, had to look

Holy crap !

I disconnected the flappy valve with this on and found it a bit loud so reconnected them but still a deeper sound than the original. Just right. For me that is.
