Hi fellas,

following on from a thread posted a short while back....
Still unsure what the best alternative is to the standard can that is noisy. Yes I wear earplugs (bespoke thank you). I still find it too loud for me on a decent length trip.
Has anyone further thoughts or anyone fitted an after market job that I could both see and hear?
Any excuse to jump on the bike for a jaunt!
I am in sunny Derby.
Thanks for all previous help and advice.

Charlie

Hi

have you tried searching for a db killer on ebay?

loads of them to choose from just select the one that fits your can an try one

cheaper than buying a new after market can and finding its still to loud for you?

just a thought?

My 2011 GSA TC standard exhaust droned like buggery and was worse with the panniers fitted, put a MIVV can on with the baffle in and it was much easier to live with , there is a post somewhere on here

Thanks APW,
what is a DB killer, does it have a more definitive description? Never heard of this before.

+1 exactly the same scenario

Found a can:

DOMINATOR Exhaust HP1 BMW R1200GS 10-12 + DB KILLER

Anyone have experience of this make?
It says on the info it is 100 db without the DB killer. Wonder what the db is with the killer?

I agree, the standard set up sounds awful. The standard can sounds better without the cat (new headers) and a Remus Hex can is better still.

I'd recommend an Arrow complete system (£499) or just an end can (£Less), nice and quiet, and serviceable too.

Fit a standard full system from the earlier model - very very quiet and great for long tours :)

100dB is pretty loud. Check how loud it is with the baffles. I once had a Beowulf system that was virtually the same with or without the supplied baffles. Thankfully, it was Ok with an ordinary universal baffles.

Only if you keep it totally standard with catalyst and put up with the power issues. But it will fit fine.

I like the sound of my TC with standard exhaust....

But I did notice then when wearing a Shoei Hornet it became a little annoying - I normally wear a Schubert J1 and it sound bloody fantastic with that
