Exhaust Valve Eliminator Tube

Stainless can gall (self weld) so use some high temperature anti seize paste on the pipe end and ideally smooth the silencer inlet as well as the tube edge.
 
Copper grease isnt used as a recommended grease on stainless steel due to corrosion at high temperatures. Molybdenum disulphide grease or Nickleslip is the stuff to use if you can get hold of some. I have used silicone grease without much problem. Possibly any type of grease is better than none. The thing is that when fitting a new car exhaust, no grease or sealant is applied and they still come apart easily enough after many years of use.
 
Fitted mine dry - easy access to knock out when Santa brings my Akra headers..
