Had a chum connect his 911 diagnostic equipment to my 014 GSA which showed the exhaust flap fail 13 times. Can this be fiddled with ,cleaned. or is it a replacement part ? Am aware the valve opens at higher speed,if it does not open full would this cause a high vibration which can be felt ?

The flap is a Euro Compliant part for noise! It's broken don't worry.

However if you want it fixing £1300 is all it takes :-)

If the motor is working, surely the flap can be freed up?

I run mine without the flap, with no issue.

Mine packed in on my 2014 GSA, leading to engine cutting out and randomly going in to 'limp' mode. Fortunately it was repaired under warranty.

Yes aftermarket headers do away with it. Or you can just take the cables off it, so it doesn't function, but the motor does (no fault codes). Its default position is wide open.

Can you not do the same on the LC with aftermarket headers (Remus do a replacement) - :nenau

I guess you probably can if you want to replace the system, it just seems daft that the valve is built in unlike on the TC where you could just do away with it leaving the oe headers and pipe still on and adding the link pipe.

Several threads on the exhaust flab and here is one for starters. There are also several threads on removing the unit and replacing with a pipe.
