Hi all!
After years of snooping the forum for help I thought it was about time I was sociable and throw in my two bob.
I got my pride and joy from Barnstormer's around March last year and have done around 20k on her since then, and had a bit of a spill in Feb on some ice, which bent my crash bars about an inch to the right. After a beautiful summer out every day I thought as the weather set in, and my new car arrived it was time for some TLC!
(ill try and get the pics in in order, bite me if it's wrong
)
First thing was first, the crash bars and pannier frame all needed either a) replace the crash bars or b) have them powder coated to remove some of the crap and neaten them up. Naturally I went for the cheaper option and took a pile of silver bits to Trestans Powder Coating in Totton, Southampton. For the pile of bits I was quoted a mere £100!
I'll get back to you with the quality.
Once they were off, I started tinkering with the exhaust as the chrome exhaust had a lot of corrosion and I needed to replace the exhaust flap with a blank pipe, and the manifold was starting to lose its chrome etc etc etc (cue abuse for the lack of ACF 50!)....
I thought I would wrap it after seeing the RNineT with a wrapped exhaust when it came out. I know everyone has mixed feelings but since the whole bike is going some shade of black it would suit!
Applying it was a complete b*****d! the videos you see on you tube are usually old choppers that maybe have two corners in the pipe, not changes in direction, splitting, diameter changes mid turn etc, but after much cursing it was on! here's it just drying up...
It was quite a sight when the bike was drying it, I nearly had a heart attack seeing the steam, but all is well now!
just thought I'd throw in my insights into the world of wrapping, looks good so far, and to accompany it I've just *ACCIDENTALLY* bought a Remus Hexacone to go on the end. Merry Christmas me
More than welcome to hear comments, questions or heckling, just thought I'd see what the masses think?
